NATIONAL PENSION SYSTEM Brief note.
1)The NATIONAL PENSION SYSTEM was ordered in Dec 2003 with clear service condition that central employees joining on or after 01.01.2004 will be covered under New Pension Scheme 2004.
So central Govt employees joining on or after 2004 are aware that they will get pension benifit under NATIONAL PENSION SYSTEM only.
So it is part of agreed service condition.
2) Therefore the best thing is to extract maximum benefit on par with old pension scheme through all available channels.
3) Now lets us see What are important benefit of Old pension.
a) 50% Pension of last pay drawn after 20 years of service.
b) One month gratuity for every compleated two years of service with maximum 33 years.
c) Leave Encashment for max upto 300 days.
d) Family pension.etc.
4) There was no major efforts or strike for 10 years from 2004 to 2014 by left oriented unions when leftist are supporting the Govt.
5) It is only BMS affiliated Govt Employees National confederation (GENC) including Postal BPEF ,Railway ,etc which began to bring pressure on New NDA Govt.The first success was
a)Payment of gratuity on par with Old pension
b)Payment of family pensoin on par with Old Pension Scheme
c)Leave encashment
d)Raising of Government contribution Government contribution 14% Minimum employee contribution will remain at 10%
Now we should concentrate on Most important 50% assured pension of last pay drawn.
6) BMS is further making honest efforts both by trade union actions and through effective influence and Dialog. Whenever BMS making efforts the other unions simply call for strike and most of times strikes are called off without any negotiations nor even meetings. Unfortunately the common members of those union were never taken into confidence either while going on strike or calling off strike. These strikes are more political in nature as in case of 8th, 9th Jan 2019 strike nationwide strike by CITU AITUC etc. They are more interested in political mileage and to retain their membership base by hook or crook rather than using diplomatic channel maintaining healthy and cordial relationship with the Government of the Day.
7) Hence I request all right thinking person to understand the ground reality and take right decision about real cause the strike. Youngsters are requested to convey the ground reality to their colleagues.
8) BMS and BPEF is always for joint struggle on common cause with mutual respect and National interest. Unfortunately the left oriented unions always try to keep distance from Nationalist unions like BMS.
