Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) announced that they will not participate in the proposed strike to be held on on January 8,9, January 2019, as it is being politically motivated.

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) announced that they will not participate in the proposed strike to be held on on January 8,9, January 2019, as it is being politically motivated.
The BMS thinks that a general strike to be called by a number of Left trade unions and congress affiliates around the country on January 8,9, January 2019, is a fraud, a political strike. We are appealing all Unions and Unions affiliated to  BMS to stay away from this political strike.
Sri B  Ravindra Raja Varma, President BMS Telangana  said that labour unions in the political environment in the country ignored labour welfare.  It is clear that labour movements should be taken to address the problems of labour issues in the country rather than politics, and therefore the BMS will not support  for a general strike on January 8, 9 in the country and appealed all the workers and employees to stay away from this political strike
The BMS Telangana state general secretary A. Ravi Shankar said that BMS held Dharna  before the Parliament on 17 November 2017 last year, and Government immediately  formed a subcommittee  headed by Arun Jaitley, to discuss labour issues and demands.  The Maternity Benefit Amendment Act has increased the duration of paid maternity leave available for women employees from the existing 12 weeks to 26 weeks. Weeks maternity leave, amendments in the road safety bill, 12-point policy has been cancelled. In NPS Payment of Gratuty, Payment of family pension on par with Old Pensions Scheme, Raising of Government contribution to National Pension Scheme to  14% Minimum employee contribution will remain at 10% as govt's contribution to National Pension Scheme (NPS) will increase to 14% of basic salary. With efforts of BMS  the Central Govt has implemented Kamlesh Chandra Committe Report  rural postal workers,  increased the bonus ceiling, and amended  the labour laws in the proposed labour codes. The BMS has also worked for the renovation of Fertilizer Corporation of India in Ramagundam and the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved for its revival. Therefore, the strike called by Left parties is for a Political Advantage rather than on labour issues and appealed  not to participate in the nationwide strike on January 8,9 2019. BMS would fight an uncompromising fight for the problems of labour in the country.
BMS National vice presidents S. Mallesham  said that the central government would hold talks with trade unions on the demands of the trade unions,  and the BMS would negotiate with the central government. Even after the Govenment  promised for  negotiations, the Left Labour unions accused the government and misled the workers to gain political advantage as the elections are nearby.
On December 31ST  CONFEDERATION OF CENTRAL TRADE UNIONS (CONCENT)   along with  BMS  met in Delhi and decided the resolutions to  be taken up  of the central government for immediate redressal.
