NEVER GO TO THE POST OFFICE AGAIN

If you’re anything like us, hauling a box to the post office / UPS / FedEx is the peskiest task on your to-do list (and yes, packages have maybe sat in the car for~~weeks~~ months before we finally got around to doing it.)

So when we recently spied a co-worker shipping a box via USPS from her desk, complete with a scheduled pick up at no charge, we started firing off questions.

Turns out the US Postal Service is up with the times (or we’ve just been living under a rock). Here’s the deal: So you have to use their special box, but that’s no problem because you can order them online, and they deliver them to your house all for free – no joke. (You can also pick them up from a post office, but why would you do that?!)

Okay so once you get your boxes, pack them up, log onto your new My USPSaccount, and just fill out where it’s going. Anything under 70 pounds ships for $7 (small box), $13 (medium box), $19 (large box) and arrives in 2 days’ time. Print out the label, schedule a pickup from the dashboard, and leave it for the postal worker. You can even track packages via their app.

Andhra Pradesh Postal Circle Inaugral function on 11/10/2016

Inauguration of Andhra Pradesh Circle will be held at "The Venue' Convention Centre, NTR Colony, Ring Road, Beside Medical College, Vijayawada 520028 on 11/10/2016 at 12.00 noon.

Postal Department to hike prices in order to overcome revenue deficit

The Postal Department has bucked up to overcome its big annual revenue deficit of Rs 6000 by hiking prices of postcards, stamps etc. The decision comes after Minister of Communications Manoj Sinha held a meeting to discuss the strategies to bring in the additional Rs 1000 cr revenue every year.

HOWEVER WITH THE NEW RATES IN EXECUTION, THE MINISTER DID NOT FORGOT TO REMIND THE OFFICIALS ABOUT FOCUSING ON THE TIME OF DELIVERY OF THE PARCELS.
The Postal Department has bucked up to overcome its big annual revenue deficit of Rs 6000 by hiking prices of postcards, stamps etc. The decision comes after Minister of Communications Manoj Sinha held a meeting to discuss the strategies to bring in the additional Rs 1000 cr revenue every year.
During the meeting when Sinha was apprised with the fact that the pricing comes from Finance Ministry, the Communications Minister directed a committee of ministers to be formed to decide on the hike and the new prices.
According to Indian Express, the new prices of the 25 paise and 50 paise postcards will be 2 rupees, and the price of the Rs 6- printed postcard to Rs 9 per printed postcard. Similarly, the price of an inland letter of Rs 2.50 denomination has been proposed to be increased to Rs 9. The price of India Post’s parcels have also been surged up from Rs 19 per 500 gms to Rs 30 now.
However with the new rates in execution, the Minister did not forgot to remind the officials about focusing on the time of delivery of the parcels.
Going by a report of 2015, the Department found out that its expenses had risen by 262 per cent despite the revision last made in 2001-02 and the prices remaining unchanged.
Also discussed in the meeting was the India Post’s market share in the parcel market which is a minor Rs 1.5-2.0 lakh crore compared to other courier majors. India Post is already cashing in on the boom in e-commerce deliveries, especially the surging cash-on-delivery consignments of the country’s top online sellers — Amazon,Snapdeal, Flipkart and Myntra. Sinha asked the officials to come up with a strategy to beat the over priced courier companies in market in order to shoot up India Post’s shares. All of the further plans will be discussed in a second meet planned for the next month.

The undersigned is directed to say that in pursuance of the decision taken by the Government on the Seventh Pay Commission’s recommendations relating to advances, the existing provisions of Compendium of Rules on Advances — 21(5) relating to Personal Computer Advance are amended as per the amendments attached. 2. These orders will take effect from the date of issue of this O.M. The cases where the advances have already been sanctioned need not be reopened. 3. The other interest bearing advances relating to Motor Car Advance and Motorcycle / Scooter / Moped Advance will stand discontinued. 4. In so far as persons serving in Indian Audit and Accounts Department are concerned, these orders issue in consultation with the Comptroller and Auditor General of India. 5. Confusion Continues in Promotion Option after Finance Ministry order Ministry of finance has issued an Office Memorandum regarding Revising Promotion Option under FR 22(1) (a). Here there should not be any misunderstanding between Exercising Option for Pay Revision under CCS (RP) Rules 2016 and Exercising option for Pay Fixation for Promotion/MACP under FR 22(1)(a) As per the provisions of FR 22 (l) (a) the Government servants have the option, to be exercised within one month from the date of promotion, to have the pay fixed under this rule from the date of such promotion or from the date of next increment. Some of the employees. promoted between 01.01.2016 and 25.7.2016 had opted for their pay fixation on promotion/financial up-gradation under MACPS from the date of their next increment in the lower grade. Consequent upon notification of CCS CRP) Rules, 2016 i.e 25th July, 2016. the option submitted by such employees has now turned out to be disadvantageous. In some Department the Employees Promoted between 01-01-2016 and 25-7-2016 are allowed to exercise their Option to revise their Pay from the Date of Next increment i.e 1st July 2016. But As per the provisos to CCS (RP) Rules 2016, they should not have been allowed to give option to revise their Pay beyond their date of Promotion Since it has been stated in CCS (RP) Rules 2016 under Rule No.5. Now the Ministry of Finance issued an OM which says “Under the changed circumstances after notification of CCS (RP) Rules. 2016. the employee may be allowed to exercise revised option for fixation of pay under FR 22(I)(a)(I). Such revised option shall be exercised within one month of issue of this OM Option so revised, shall be final” After this Clarification there is confusion among Government servants those who got Promotion between 01-01-2016 and 25-7-2016 regarding how their Pay will be fixed…? The Doubts are .. 1. What is the status of Employees promoted between 01.01.2016 and 25.7.2016 and opted to Revise their pay on Date of Next Increment i.e 1.7.2016 ? i. Would they be asked to revise their promotion option under FR 22(1)(a) ? ii. The option Exercised under the provisos to rule 5 of CCS (RP) Rules 2016 also to be revised again…? iii. If one opt to fix the pay on Date of Promotion under FR 22(1)(a) and Opt to revise the pay on date of Promotion under Revised Pay Rules 2016, how the Pay will be fixed…? The Concerned Departments / Federations may take up this issue to appropriate level for necessary clarification to clear the doubts of central government Employees.

The ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions issued a notification to the effect on September 28 2016. The central government has accepted the 7th Pay Commission (CPC) recommendations on time-bound promotion for Central government employees that will ensure at least one career progression every 10 years. The 7th pay commission in its November 2015 report had said that despite demands for increasing the frequency of time bound promotion, it had decided to retain the existing scheme, known as Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS). The ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions issued a notification to the effect on September 28 2016. The 7th pay commission report said that resentment over the existing pay structures that prompted the demand have been addressed by rationalisation of pay levels, abolition of pay band and grade pay Report of the Seventh CPC 82 Index and introduction of a matrix based open pay structure. Hence, there is no justification for increasing the frequency of MACP and it will continue to be administered at 10, 20 and 30 years as before. In the new Pay matrix, the employees will move to the immediate next level in the hierarchy. Fixation of pay will follow the same principle as that for a regular promotion in the pay matrix, the CPC report had recommended. This has been accepted by the Central government. The Government has considered the above recommendation and has accepted the same. In the light of the recommendations of the 7th CPC accepted by the Government, the Modified Assured Career Progression Scheme (MACPS) will continue to be administered at 10, 20 and 30 years as before, the September 28 notification read. The Central government also approved the 7th pay commission recommendations on performance appraisal for employees to qualify under the MACP. There is, however, one significant aspect where this Commission feels that a change is required. This is with regard to the benchmark for performance appraisal for MACP as well as for regular promotion. The Commission recommends that this benchmark, in the interest of improving performance level, be enhanced from Good to Very Good. In addition, introduction of more stringent criteria such as clearing of departmental examinations or mandatory training before grant of MACP can also be considered by the government, the CPC had proposed.

Zee Media Bureau New Delhi: The Central Government employees will have to wait a little more for the implementation of revised allowance as the government has decided to delay it by a month following the surgical strikes that India recently carried out, media reports say. Indian security forces carried out surgical strikes on terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC) on September 29 after a terror attack on an army camp in Jammu and Kashmir's Uri on September 18.
